Billy how much weight should I put in my tires for my crawler, I star cut the foams and that helped tremendously, I was down by the st. Louis river crawling all day last Thursday, was a blast.

Ya it all depends on your set-up. If your still running nimh get a mini-t pack and get it mounted on your upper links. Axial makes a plate or just use some lexan. If your running c cells split the pack and put three on each side of your pumkin, on your axle. The Crawler store has nice little delron plates for that. With this set-up you wont need alot of weight in your front. If your running lipo same thing get it on your upper links. But you can ad more weight to the front. Oh hobbytown has a nice little 2c 1500 mah by electrifly for 30 bucks and it even comes with a deans connector. But ya I run 3.5 oz in each front and 2 oz in each rear using a lipo. But I dont think I have the ideal set-up yet. One big thing I dont remember if you have the stock 3-link or the 4-link. But torque twist is a big thing that sucks. Worse with a 3-link. But do a search on (mirror image transmission) on rccrawler. Ya its its so stupid simple but on your tranny your case halves are the same both halves. There is a rubber plug on the top oposite side that the spur gear shaft goes through. Split your case and put that shaft in the oposite side same thing with the rubber plug. Now when you put the tranny back in the truck put the skid/tranny mount back in a 180 out. Mount the tranny. Now what this does is instead of your motor on the drivers side back corner its now in the front passenger side but still spins the same direction. This helps keep the right front planted and helps the twist. But ya you get bored go under the axial thread on rccrawler http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=73 but if you got any questions just shoot. There is so much tweaking you can do. Id say tires, weight, and shock set-ups are key. But also check out double triangulation, anti-squat, moving lower links inboard of your chasis if not already and ckrc build thread http://www.rccrawler.com/axialcompbuild.html this will show you shock set-up, moving your upper links forward on your chasis and inboarding your lower links on the chasis. Or check out the crawler store they got a skid made from delron or check out CDW he is a vendor on rccrawler. He's got a nice double triangulated skid from delron. Very good quality and fast shipping. Ive got a few items from him. But ya I could go on and on. The crawler is getting addicting and there fun to tweak. Ive spent countless hours on rccrawler very good site. Hope to see ya on the rocks this sunday.

Thats cool, I think im going to go with CKRC BTA kit. Then hopfully I can use a upperlink mount like your dad made so im not stuck with a 3-link up front.

Hey Shane I dont know where you get your weights but dont waste your money buying like AE. You get just a couple oz for like 5 bucks. Go somewhere that installs tires and you can get 10 oz strips cheap. The place here in two harbors sold me 20 oz for 5 bucks. They are the sticky back lead weights that break off at every 1/4 oz. Or a few local guys perfer bb's but that requires the right foam set-up so they roll in the rim. That will keep all the weight at the bottom of your tire.

One thing about the bb's is they rust if they ever get wet and start clumping up.

No expert here but being an old time trap shooter/re-loader get a bag of lead shot, they will NOT rust or clump up when wet...
