You're very correct about this being insanely cheaper than real racing. I personally will buy whatever is decided by our entire club. That said how many people in our club, myself aside, will be buying new motors this year due to the rule changes? I had to buy everything to run the VTA 1s class, and now 10 nights later I will buy whatever is needed to run again. Most of you have gotten multiple years. How many guys will say the heck with it and not come? Theres a few in these posts and more possibly that don't frequent here. Is it our goal as a club to keep people coming back, or grow the club?

Also, Just cause its cheaper don't mean I plan to buy all new stuff all the time. None of my on road stuff was new when I bought it, is it good? Yup. New and expensive, nope.

Believe me when I say that it's no different being in it for many years compared to 1 year, things in this hobby have changed faster in the last 5 years than the 20 years before it. Just be happy you didn't have to buy multiple motors for stock/mod buggy,stock/mod truck,mod 4wheel,sedan,1/12 scale each year for years plus a motor lathe and more brushes than you can imagine to keep thing going plus have to turn comms more often than you would think possible. Talk about time consuming! What we have now is so much cheaper and easier. That's the whole point of trying to turn the VTA class into a stable class by switching to 25.5/2s. We all want a class we can run year after year with as little cost as possible, like Spec Truck. I understand why you don't want to buy new when you already have what you thought you needed to race this year, blame the fact that we didn't switch at the beginning of last year, then you would be set up already. No time is a perfect time for everyone but it's just time to stop putting it off, so it's right for the next set of new racers coming in.

Thats why this thread was started 5 months ago. So we could make the transition. Now we have roughly 6 weeks

It would be nice for a decision to be made on this one way or another. We are probably about a month away from that though. Plus it's been said a few times all it takes is 4 to make a class so it sounds like it will be run divided anyways.

How many people want to add another class to our Thursday night program ? Just something to think about. Seems to me like there is a lot of complaining about getting done too late on Thursdays. Weekends are another story,lots of time.

You must not have saw my other post. I would like to see a core group of classes run on Thursdays and nothing else. That way we would get done earlier on Thursdays.

I think splitting the VTA class up is the wrong thing to do. Like I said before, we've been putting this off long enough and everyone in the club new it was was coming. That includes any new racers because it was talked about again this spring. Blowing it off thru the summer helped no one. Shame on everyone.

Thursdays get done late due to a number of factors, first being about 2/3 the people not helping setup. That'd be my first bylaw, get your packs charging and get working on the track. Secondly run 3 min between heats rather than 6-10. With Shane having learned the system now, having extra Computer runners will greatly aid Gary not running around trying to do every job every night.

Yes Nick, track setup is the key. One thing that I think helped last year was running the same layout for half the season. Shortening the time between heats is also a key. People aren't ready go without them.

VTA, i would hate to dilute the class.

My vote stands with 25.5, 2cell. If there are still the small handful of people that want to race 17.5 then so be it. The qualifying heats still get broken down anyway. I really don't have much to discuss about it. If the majority of us make the push everyone else are sure to follow, or just quit. Our on road season is still a long way out. Plenty of time to get the cars together

25.5, 2 cell and be done.
