Mid year and its time to turn the motors, It would be nice to get all the extra brushes that came in the kit. I will pick up a few extra pairs and those that lost the spairs or bought a car on ebay will have to pay for a pair.
To help them last longer we are going to gear them down. The rules state that 120 tooth spur is what comes with the kit, but they came with 128. So if you run a 120 tooth spur lets go down to a 25 pinion and if you have not destroyed the 128 that came with the kit you can run a 26 tooth pinion. Its the closest on the ratio and will give you a choice.
Tweek screws is the other subject we need feed back on. If we let everyone us them it will be a little easier on tires.
Let me know what you think spec drivers because I want your input before we make a change. I said at our October meeting that we would look at the areas that may need rules changed at mid season. These are the areas that have been brought to my attention, so lets talk about it and make the changes everyone agrees on.
Thanks
Gary

At Thursdays race the spec drivers got togeather and made the following changes that will go into effect on the next race night.
Tweek screws will be allowed and I would like the drivers with experience in using tweek screws to help out our new racers that don't know how to set there cars up using them. The choice is yours you don't have to use them if you don't want too.
Gear ratios that will be allowed 128 tooth spur and 26 tooth pinion.
120 tooth spur and 25 tooth pinion. You can run either one and it might be good for you to have both ratios if you want to compansate for tire wear. The kits came with both 120 and 128 tooth spur gears so we will allow these ratios to everyone. For the new drivers the pinion that came in the kit will not last so you might as well get a good pinion to go with the spur your kit came with. If you change before the pinion goes bad you will save the spur gear and they have lasted quite well. Don't beleive the kit instructions you have to count the teeth on the spur gear to make sure it is right.
The spec cars will have a night for tech inspections and my only warning is don't mix the pinion and spur ratios up, they are only as listed above.
I will give you a break if you are new racer or we can not come up with enough pinions to make this change. The only thing I ask is you check it out with me before we start racing. I would like to know before we tech you.
Another issue we can start thinking about is bodies for next year. I have had some ask for NASCAR bodies or maybe Sports car and NASTRUCK. Before you know it next year will be here and if we decide early enough maybe we can get a break by ordering a quantity of bodies.
I think the only drivers that were not at the track were Josh and Chris so if either of you have a problem with the rule changes let me know.
Thanks
Gary

Very clear on everything. If anybody has any questions on the tweak screws you can see me at the track thursday and I will help out.
As far as bodies go. I think we should make a decision by the end of the season as it will still be fresh on everybody's mind.
My vote is for truck bodies.

One nice thing about the truck bodies is the body posts are in the bed of the truck and would with no doubt save on wear and *TEARS* in the carpet..and they are ool looking if you ask me....hopefully my truck body will be taken off this week and I will be back to a Stratus body, just need someone like Josh or another cutting pro to cut it up for me...
