New from McAllister. Sort of looks like a Panoz/Austin Martin.

Looks alot more aerodynamic than the "brick" trucks of years past! LOL

LSRCC I think still gets a deal on McCalister bodies so we should look close at this one.

There seems to have been some confusion on the gearing. Here is Gary's post on the subject. I will add it to the class rules sheet also.

To help them last longer we are going to gear them down. The rules state that 120 tooth spur is what comes with the kit, but they came with 128. So if you run a 120 tooth spur lets go down to a 25 pinion and if you have not destroyed the 128 that came with the kit you can run a 26 tooth pinion. Its the closest on the ratio and will give you a choice.

Tweek screws is the other subject we need feed back on. If we let everyone us them it will be a little easier on tires.

Let me know what you think spec drivers because I want your input before we make a change. I said at our October meeting that we would look at the areas that may need rules changed at mid season. These are the areas that have been brought to my attention, so lets talk about it and make the changes everyone agrees on.

Jim was asking me last night and I was not positive but knew that there were 2 options. So this is it: you can run one of two spurs and depending on which spur you run your pinion MUST match the spur!

120 spur MUST run a 25 pinion
128 spur MUST run a 26 pinion.

I am waiting for word on the cost of tires for the spec cars so if you are interested in getting in on a tire order let me know here what you need. If I can not get them for the cost that I have gotten them for before it will not be worth us to order and it will just be up to the racer to order them. They are still being made because they are the tire used in the new worlds class as a spec tire. I know any Hobby shop can get them. Same story on Batteries, if I would get enough requests it may be worth ordering by quantity. If there is no price break advantage then there would be no advantage of the club purchasing batteries.

I am also looking for options available for a new chassis to use as our spec class in 2011. With the techno changes it may be time to change batteries and motor rules in this class as well. The motors we are useing have been very durable but when they are done they will have to be replace with something. Batteries there are many options to look at.

The cost of the current class was pretty cheap. Trinity sold us the kits for $95.00 they came with chassis, battery, body, motor and tires. You had to put in your own electronics and you were ready to race. Thats a pretty tough act to follow.

One decision has been made for the club spec carpet class and it is we will stay with the NAS Truck bodies for another year. Let me know if you need a new body and I can see if I can get them for the same price as before. Its been over a year since I ordered the last batch. They have to be the Mcalister NAS Truck bodies Toyota, Ford, Chev and Dodge.
