I am just getting back into the RC car racing after being away for 20+ years (been flying airplanes)
I am interested in the short course racing with the trucks (slash,, Hyper SC10,,Jamin SCRT10, Blitz, ect)
I want to do indoor and outdoor both.
I will have a box stock RTR in both 2wd & 4wd,,,, and also modified 2wd & 4wd...
Do you have indoor track for winter ?
after reading the above comments, and coments and information gathered from around the country,, I will put my 2 cents in on your class structure and argument,,, based off other "Highly Successful racing club"
Most all classes follow these rules/guidelines for stock classes in some way shape or form.
Stock Class = RTR trucks period, absolutely zero changes, box stock everything... but some place let you replace motors with better motors but not so much more high performance, they have a KV rating similar to stock,,, or motors that are OK'ed for stock class replacement,, ESC no biggie,, tires of same or similar size (not 1/8th scale on a 1/10th scale truck)
stock shocks but different springs, valving, oil ect is ok,,,,, The stock class is supposed to be stock,,,, and I like this class because it offers more people the chance to race, and make for a bigger class and better racing,,, but I do like the option to have better chassis parts to prevent breaking,, engine and tire rules I like stock,, keeps it simple...
If people don't like the stock class, then don't race it, I have read in every racing club forum or series about how all the racers want to try and make there own rules for stock class,,, and read also how most classes and racing organizations gave up and quit because of all the whining and crying from the racers trying to change the rules..
These people need a swift kick in there *ss to set them straight and to follow the rules and to not ruin a good thing for the other enthusiasts...
Open/Mod Class,,, Keep tires to stock dimensions,,, any motor, suspension, frame upgrades ect,, but keep everything in the proper scale for the class,,, I think tires should be kept to the same dimensions to preserve the authenticity of the class.. Its short course truck racing "CORE"
The nice thing about a stock and mod class is the guy with the stock truck can still race the mod class for the track time, and the people putting on the event can get a few more bucks as well,,,
OK,,, with that said,, I live 3 hours from your place and I have 5-10 friends that will travel up to your place to do some racing,,,and plenty of other people I see that would also be interested as well,,,,, we all have the Short Course Trucks,,, RTR and modified,, and also have Electric Buggies/Truggies to race as well...
I personally am just into the short course trucks,,, and I like stock and mod classes (limited mod) so I can get more track time for all the time and effort put into getting to a race..
So, with that said, I would like to know about your indoor and outdoor racing that you have, race series ect..
Thanks for any information you guys can provide..
