if you guys do pick up this class i have a question. i know the point is to keep them as box stock as possible. my question is would you guys allow a person to change out the screws to a hex head?

I sure hope the rules aren't that strict. I would have no plan on buying Tamiya screws as replacements. Looking forward to seeing them race sunday.

I don't have a vote because I do not have a mini. However, if I did I would like to see them kept box stock aside for maybe a tire that works better. Just My opinion. Right now a brand new racer with no radio or receiver can get in for around 300. Any extra and it can get expensive quick.

no one cares what screws you use. We are keeping it simple... It is a fun and easy class to race.

So far the only thing allowed is a cheap 20 dollar pair of oil filled shocks just to get rid of some of the bounce... stock tires, speedo and motor.

Wiita, come on and get a Cooper already! Stop being such a wussy. You talked about being in a Spec class for the last 3 months and here is your chance. "Dont be a pooper, get a Cooper".

Brian, unless they are magic speed screws I would say it doesn't really matter. A screw won't make the car any faster and if you putting hex screws instead of philips gets you to put a Cooper on the track I say welcome to the class with your hexed up mini!

Its nice to race a car that does'nt need a set groove to get around the track, unlike foam tire cars, my 12th scale is like its driving into a tornado all around the track

The mini cooper is a great class for thursday nights :D

True, But, you didn't tell me you were going to quit 1/12 along with everyone else. Sorry, not driving A half an hour each way and getting 3 hours of sleep to just race cooper.

You don't need a groove or a laptop to race Mini Cooper!

You are always welcome to join the Cooper class when you decide to have some fun. Until then we will be the guys that are laughing and wooping it up on the drivers stand while you are in the pits laptopping your speedo, changing ride ht,cutting new tires, checking rollout, checking tweek, rebuilding your diff, damper tubes, king pins, and wondering "why does my car keep spinning out on that same spot on the carpet"?

I don't remember saying I "quit" running 1/12, just don't have it on the track yet. I'll get around to it sometime I suppose.
It's not in my contract that I have to start running Onroad in September!

Irv, try reading a few posts before you come on here and blow-up. Or better yet just show up at the track and race.
As far as the cost of a Mini Cooper, Car $125.00, bearings $25.00, Lipo pack $40.00. The fun you have racing it PRICELESS !

The current spec class is still being run. The coopers are a demo class this winter for its possible replacement. It was discussed at the meeting to find a replacement. The Cooper does not cost $300 and it is one of the cheapest spec classes you'll find. $125 for the car a body tires esc and motor is a steal. Thursday night the Cooper was the biggest class and still growing.
