I think it would be cool and might bring more people to race if we had a points championship. They could win a trophy and and some sort of prize or something. And maybe even rookie of the year.

It was decided at a club meeting to only buy trophies for novice classes and special events. It can always be brought up again.

I would say the opposite. I know a ton of people who cant commit to running every week, and in all honesty its nice to not be tied to "points" racing.

Nobody "has" to race for points.

I know where you are coming from Nick, but this isn't about money or trophies.... It's about having fun and making friends, This isn't WISSOTA. Have fun and smile or else Wiita will hit you with stale french fries!!!

You got that right Joe! In all seriousness taking the "points" out of it allows for a more low key club nights, guys are more willing to help each other etc. And then at the end of the year there isnt any drama when someones buddy peels the point leader to help out there own friend

We have always raced for points. When I get the rest of the results from Gary, I will post them. It has never really been an issue. It's usually the person that made all of the races and was most consistent that comes in first. However, most of the time no one thinks about it throughout the season, even the winners are surprised at times. If you care about the points, cool, if not, just ignore them.
