Just a note for everyone, we need help taking the track down after racing. We understand if your from out of town and wanna hit the road. That said there were only 7 people after Sundays event. If we had a few more people it'd take half as long and we can all go home. Thanks for reading

Typically tear downs have gone smoothly. A couple of twists this time due to the new carpet slowed things down a bit, those growing pains will get worked out as we learn about the new carpet. I would like to state that "out of town people" are absolutely not expected to stay for teardown, it is a club event and it is the members responsibility for track SET UP and tear down! Any outside help is much appreciated but not expected.
From my perspective, setting up is more of the time consumer than tear down, those who are there can attest to this. Nick is right in saying help from all club members after the event is necessary. We all want to jet out right away but it really doesn't take long to do, even pulling up tubes in prep for rolling carpet is a huge help. This goes for new club members and old alike!!!
Sorry this is getting long but another issue at hand is corner marshaling directly after the race is over. Chris announces several times that he is waiting for corners, but I observe people more concerned with checking lap times and bench racing and neglecting to go to a spot on the track right away to get the next race started, I find myself doing the same at times. It is something we need to get better at as a whole. Nobody is above it and it is part of racing. Lets drop the cars and get to a spot and keep the event rolling, worry about issues and lap times after you are done cornering. This would speed things up and would also help with the initial problem of track tear down making it more attractive to stay with an earlier event ending time.
Sorry for the lengthiness, but had to add my 2 cents!

No worries Doug, you'll learn it all soon!My post wasn't a finger point at anyone, just a general statement that as a club we need our members involved.

Spot on, take 30 seconds to plug a pack in to charge, and get back out there.

You guys nailed it! We all want to get out as early as possible, which will happen if we all just get out and marshal when it's our time and help out with set up and tear down! Doesn't seem like much but a couple minutes between every heat waiting adds up quick. A club runs the smoothest when all members chip in and carry the load.

A couple years ago at TCORC we had a 5 buck takedown deposit for a while. It helped.
The other thing that helps is to run your largest class last, in our case Mini or VTA.
Now days we hand out raffle tix at the end of teardown...that helps and keeps things positive.

If I remember correctly Gary is handing out raffle tickets to those who stay behind to help.
