Post by gguertin145 »

Lets get some ideas going for possible replacements for this class... Tim can you post a link to the car you talked about last night? Greg what about a link to one of those mini cars you were talking about.

Don't be scarying people away, it's not a mini car it's a Tamiya Mini Cooper. It is 1/10 scale front wheel drive and comes with a body, motor, and tires for about $115.00

Mini Cooper http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wt ... &P=ML#tech

That car looks kinda fun. This car would be a lot of fun also . The suspension use's a t-plate w/a shock.

If we get close to deciding on one, we should give the company a call to find out if the car is going to be around a while.

That cars looks like it would be fun. From watching the videos it looks to be somewhat fast. The best part is it comes with a motor and esc for around $120. That's alot more for your money than that RJ speed car.

Hey, lets take it easy on the RJ Speed, i just happened to acquire one recently. On a serious note, it would seem to me that the guys that are running the Spec class, or plan on running it in the near future are the ones that should decide which car will be used in the future. Just a suggestion, why not see who has Street Spec cars they would sell, and maybe give some people the opportunity to purchase them, or maybe the club could look to acquire some to resell, or use them as rentals to give someone thats not sure an opportunity to try it.

Hey Randy. What would it take to put a 1/12 rear axle/motor mount in that car. I know its a little farting around with it
but R J speed makes other cars and might have a better axle system than currently on that car. If they do we could approach them for options.
just a idea.

I think the mini cooper would add a new fun factor to the class and you really do get alot for your money

That bolink r/c legends chassis looks pretty durable... would be a good spec class too. Their website seems pretty good.

Looks like both cars would be around for a while (In tamia's case forever...)

Bolink is no longer in business. Look at RJ Speeds web. They have the rights for the legends car and the 3.2 sport.

It could be fun to watch a bunch of mini coopers going around the track. Are there any serious objections to running a mini cooper as a stock class? If so I think we should come up with another pan type car and put it to a vote :)

I think Dan's idea for the WOW and a demo class is a really cool idea... If we put this off to next year it wont get done.

Great reasons to get into a spec class
1. No Witta
2. Just Driving, less wrenching
3. No Witta

No Witta? Ya Riiiiiight! Not a big fan of tamiya and the cost of parts. I'm going to see if I can get arj speed 3.2 pan car to try it out. Then we will know. Jim you might be right about those rear plates.

When I brought it up I didn't know the Mini Cooper also comes with an ESC. Now I like it that much more! Great value for the money and adds to the Spec side of the class with the speedo. Mini Cooper! Mini Cooper! Mini Cooper!

I think one of these would look KILLER with the green/checker paint job
