Re: Mini Cooper Thread
I understand what you mean with support. Tim I guess talked with Dan and he was going to order a kit and some parts. We'll see though. As fa as the battery. I'm sure they can order Orion packs too. Tim originally found the venom and I had ordered one from hobby town. The goal is to keep This class simple and cheap. At this point we're just going to run them one week and go from there. We for sure are allowing bearing kits And my only other concern are the shocks. But like I said. Well run them the 14th and sit down as a group and decide were we go from there. Randy your more than
to give input on this class. You can even drive mine to see what you think.

Team meeting!

+1 on Billy's last post. The goal is to have FUN and keep it as simple as we can. We will race them on the 14th and then we will sit down as a group and talk about what we learned about the cars our first time running them.

Sounds good. I'll beta test a nimh pack.
I was thinking smaller packs would help the power to weight ratio but I'm reading that light batteries require lead to balance the car back out.
Still no car in the mail yet.. Seller was full of talk before payment, and now.. Not so much.

Well. I'm half way through the build. Starting to do shocks now. All you need for tools is a nice small flat file and a good phillips screwdriver.

Re: Mini Cooper Thread
Got my mini yesterday.. Couldn't get it to run. lame
I don't have a four cell to run to the 101's bec plug so I'm attempting to solder my castle bec into it. Looks like a $20 "fix" if we go this route.

Just to clear this up there is an extra lead that comes off of the esc. This lead needs to be plugged into the battery port of your rec.
Also... anyone building one of these kits save yourselves some time and build it to the short wheelbase. The body will not line up otherwise .... trust me

No... the cars go together very nice.. GG mentioned a good trick.... before assembly go through the manual and highlight all the English. It can be a little confusing.

Re: Mini Cooper Thread
hey guys im glad to see your looking at doing the mini class. i will have a couple on hand down here. like someone posted about stormer the margin is sharp. the price is 117.99 + tax from here. as far as the battery goes yes most all lipo cells are made from 3 diffrent companies but there are things that get done to them diffrent when they get to places like venom or orion. i sell both out of the store down here and i will say i see a lot less puffed cells with orion packs wich are kokham cells. then i see with venom. just my 2 cents. and a 2400 mah in lipo will run this car probably 20 min easy! looks like its time to bring mine out!
