Joining the Club for the Summer Races

Post by bluenitro »

I have an older AE RC8 that I used to bash around down here in Saint Paul. I have never raced before. I have the itch to do some real racing so I am getting ready to put together an 8ight 2.0 with the new kit they have coming out in March. It will be my first full build. The RC8 was a race roller. I really don't have an opportunity to do indoor road racing because of school and work in the fall/winter. So looking at the ROAR website Duluth was the only club racing style dirt track that was in MN affiliated with ROAR. Although I did find this http://www.ftrcr.com/outdoor.html, though it's not affiliated with ROAR. Affiliation doesn't matter, I would just like a place to go to do some club racing in Minnesota.

Anyway, I am interested in making some trips up to Duluth some this summer and joining the club. I have some family that lives up there, so that would give me an excuse to go up there. What days are the dirt club races on? When does the season usually start and end?

As far as the setup on the 8ight, the only question I have is I plan on just throwing on some PL Crimefighters, will these do for my first time out at the track?

Thank You and hope to meet some of you this summer!

Jesse

We race on thursdays nights for our club nights and some weekend events through the summer the only firm date we have as of now is the Minnesota Nitro sereis race which is August 20th and 21st its a all weekend race. Our club dates will be posted when they come available. FTR is a good track its not a roar track but is one of the track we race on for the minnesota nitro series and Sean also holds weekly events at his track and has a little hobby shop there as well. I would try some soft AKA gridirons or some proline M3 hole shots on our track I think they work great for tires on our track.

I'd like to jump in on at least one of the races in the MN Nitro series this summer. I think I will try Loosenuts, since it's fairly close to where I live, and my fiance's from up there. I'd also love to be at the RCX Fest this year.
