Some heads up on summer race events we are planning for. The fair race is going to be July 7,8,9,10 this year and the Nito Series race will be August 20,21 with a monster truck show at the speedway track along with Proctor Hog Head Days going on during this race. Races like the Electric boogie, Electric enduro, Chill On The Hill and two other weekend events, there dates will be announced soon.

More to come

Looks like the weather is going to be in our favor for track work on Saturday May 7 so lets get-er done. It would be nice to get the painting that is needed done along with some track work if it is dry enough.

Heres a list of projects

Track boarder, tables and pit lane needs some paint. (looks good)
Wood railings on drivres stand. (looks good)
Bad tubes on the track need to be replaced. (New tubes installed)
Back laydown area needs to be strieghting up.
Tarps need to be rolled up.
One ground fault outlet needs changing (Done)
The loop needs to be reinstalled. (Partialy Done)
Sponsors banners need to be put up. (Done)
The scoreing booth needs claenaing. ( Done)
The flag pole needs to be put back up. (Witta Should Handle This One if he shows up)
The message board needs to be repaired. (Partialy Done)
Inside the storage container we need some cleaning up along with some shelfing built. (Good Start)
New cover over the dirt pile.

I will be up around 10 on Saturday morning unless the predicted weather goes to pot.

Everyone that showed up for the track work night did a great job so good it looks like we can get racing next Thursday night. We still have a few things to get done but the majority of work is done.

Thanks for keeping the race park looking good.

Bullet or Gary, anyone going to be at the track tonight? Would it be ok to rework the jump on the backstretch? and how do we want to do it. It needs a little less canyon in between jumps so the slashes can clear the jump. Tabletop? Whatever, direction please...................
??????, that's next!!

With the sponsors race just around the corner June 30 to be exact I would like to get the rest of the track work done. We still have to roll up the tarps in the field, cover the dirt pile, burn the old rotted track boards, finish staining the stairs and railings on the drivers stand. Thats about it except for cutting the grass or mowing the rocks up there.

Dan needs to fix the sponsors signs the have been damaged.

Then of coarse there is always track grooming that can be done, Tubes that were replaced need to be stored and finish putting down the new ones.

Just a reminder this is the last year of our lease and the Fair Gounds Sale will be finalized in October so we should put our best foot forword to make a good impression. The people we have to sign a lease with don't care about the track racing surface condition but they do care about how the race park grounds look.

As long a Mike has not been posting when he is going to do track work I will do a better job watching this post to let anyone that wants to help know when I will be up there. I have been up at the track just about two or three times a week whenever my schedule alows me to be there. I am not bragging but to give an example I was up on Saturday to fix the lawnmower and cut some grass, Up on Sunday to do grass trimming and empty the garbage, up on Tuesday night (track work night) fix the broken night light sign windows with the help of Joe K. more lawn mowing and move some old track boarders around, up on Wednesday night for the Fair Board Meeting, up on Thursday to play in the mud with the other racers that are not afraid of getting there off road equipment dirty.

Weather permitting it will be another Tuesday track work day and I will be up at the track sometime this weekend when I can work it out between grad parties and work at home along with the weather.

Gary

PS Everyone did a great job on Thursday working together to get the track work done along with getting the race in.

The weather realy sucks for sure but looks good for the weekend so I am going to try and be up on Thursday after work if the weather is good. Here are work at the dock on the bay we have clocked north east 75 MPH at our highest point, nice first day of summer.

Gary

Mike must have missed you on Monday night it got nice for a while so I stopped up around 7:00 to do a little grass cutting. Gained anothe 300 gallons of water in the tank.
