State Onroad Camps

Post by jdeadman »

hi Guys Jason from Thunder Bay.

Looking to come down to the DECC for the March Onroad Champs and wondering about the VTA Class. We run the USVTA Rules with the exception of the roar approval for the Hardcase 2s Lipo's

Which Rules are you running for the VTA class and if it's the Cities Rules (17.5/1s) will you allow us to run the 25.5 with you guys?

I have no idea how it stacks up against the 17.5 but the 25.5 is still pretty slow.

Also what is the specifications for the Stock 1/12th and what is a good suggestion of a motor for Open 1/12?

Thanks

Jason

Hello Jason, we have been running single cell / 17.5's and I don't really know how they would stack up. There was some discussion to changing over but maybe someone else can chime in on the subject. I'm sure if we preregistered enough, who knows, run both..............Sounds like a discussion coming on. :smash As for open 1/12th ..............I really can't answer that one........ :stupid:

At our last race the discussion started on a possible switch to 25.5/2s from the 17.5/1s we run currently. As far as I could tell all the guys that were asked about the switch were either for or not against the change but a few of our guys still have not been asked how they feel about it so for now it's still 17.5/1s, we will update on any changes if they happen. I'm told that the 25.5/2s is slightly faster but don't know for sure. Just might have to do some testing. We will try to update everyone on this soon.
Specs for 1/12 stock are 17.5/1s,blinky speedo.
Open 1/12 motor is all about how good the driver is.

The Nice thing about the 25.5 setup is everyone is on the same page for speed. There are no motor wars you don;t have to buy 39 motors to find a fast one.

The thing is getting your car's setup to your driving style and have fun. (the 1550g weight helps too) It all comes down to who makes the least mistakes and on a track of our size (really really small) it gets interesting

Also for our 1/12th scale class we user 10.5 motors boosted and that seems like all I would need for mod.

on our website we have a full listing of all of the rules for every class we run indoors do you have anything like that? I am also wondering about the mini class?

Cheers

Got a club race on Feb. 5th, that would be our next club race and it's on a Sunday, I'm thinking. Come on down, we'll see how the VTA's stack up.

10 hours, whew.....couple of our guys went to Florida to play with toy cars........but then again they probably have warm weather, beach's, bikini's, and plenty of cold drinks to keep entertained. Oh wait it's Wiita, Florida to just play with toy cars :lol Sleep, who needs it, gas money......., justification........come on, we're playing with toy cars. What could be better than that?

25.5 2S USVTA will be ran at the Minnesota State Champs Race as an addition to our 17.5 1S class that we have been running in Minnesota. This will give the racers a choice on the class they prefer to run and give our local racers a chance to see the 25.5 class run. If you want to take the time you could run both classes, Greg did it at our last club race and the set up was not far off for either class.

Hotel imformation will soon be available.

Also, what is the motor combo for super stock sedan? or is it boosted 17.5?
