Slash class

Post by Christianson »

I was just wondering about battery size ...is there a limit to MAH and C rating? How about motor size for stock spec class? i read this...The JBRL has the right to change or modify any rule as we see fit at any time to ensure better and more affordable competition.

ROOKIE STOCK SHORT COURSE

-No sponsored drivers!

-Any current production 2wd truck may be used.

-May use any of the RTR brushed motors that come with any of the RTR trucks. Any ROAR approved 27T brushed or 17.5 brushless motor may be used. NO brushless RTR motors allowed!

-Any ROAR approved speed control may be used. NO boost or advanced timing allowed.

-Can use any ROAR approved 2 cell 7.4V lipo or 7.2V 6 cell NIMH battery pack (No 3 cell lipos or 7 cell NIMH)

-Must use stock chassis from box stock short course kit.

-Any aftermarket parts made specifically for your truck may be used (excluding chassis)

-Must use any tire made specifically for a 1/10 scale short course vehicle.

-Must use any body made specifically for a 1/10 scale short course vehicle

Can anyone help me out on what is needed to get going... I've got a rtr slash brushed with a xl-5 esc... and if its a rtr to a limit can we mod to the ultimate rtr slash with the bigbore shocks and all the aluminum parts ect.

I may be wrong here but the Slash class is not the Rookie Short course rules. The Spec Slash class is just that the spec brushed motor slash. Not the brushless. You are allowed to use Lipo 2s I don't believe there is a C rating rule or a size rule on it. You can change tires out to other tread patterns but it has to be slash tires. You have to use stock Traxxas Servo and Stock ESC. As far as I know no aftermarket parts of any kind. and the Stock 12t Motor. I know some guys have used and no one really makes a deal of aftermarket shocks but that are for the slash. Thats really about it. Help me out guys if I am wrong or forgot anything.

The rules for the slash class are posted in a sticky ("slash rules"). It looks like JBRL does not have them listed anymore.

You are correct. No "C" rating for the battery, 2s battery, tires of your choice.
