1/10 truck tires for carpet

Post by WIITA »

Most of the guys running 1/10 truck on carpet are running this tire down at mmr. Thought I would share for the new truck class interest we have at the club. I think the molded insert would be the ticket as well!! http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_inf ... res-Clay-2

I would say it is a 50/50 split from the panther to the road hawg. Both look pretty equal when observing from the outside. Both need a couple runs to get the compound soaked in and get the mold release off. Wear so far seems excellent on both options and no harm to the track surface at all.

The problem I see with the slicks is you become dependent on compound. Use the wrong stuff and have it run out mid-race and its outta controll time.

In my expirence with vta and rubber touring car tires, they get better through out the run.

The biggest plus is it will be a lot better for the carpet. The slashes are hard on the carpet, and new carpet is very expensive.
