Outdoor racing invitationals in Thunder Bay

Post by RobC »

Hello fellow RC enthusiasts. My name is Rob and I am a director at large for the RC club in Thunder Bay (LRCCC).

I'm posting this here early hopefully garner some interest from your club members to come visit us.

We have in our Opinion a very nice big track with a brand-new fully wheelchair accessible driver stand (as of last year) which would welcome some visitors for either one or both of our impending summer after invitationals.

Last year we had two, one in early July and one in early September. The dates for this years 2 invitationals are yet to be determined but probably will be fixed within the next month or so. Last year we had the following classes: 1/10 2WD, 1/10 4WD, 1/8 buggy, 1/8 truggy, and sportsman (catch all for beginners). I anticipate this year we will have those classes and possibly a short course truck class dependent on the number of people owning that vehicle.

Our event Is much like the ones you guys run, its open practice on Friday, Saturday all morning and afternoon's qualifying, and Sunday all morning and afternoon is triple a-main races for each class with awards afterwords and barbecue during both days. And we usually have a raffle with some really nice prizes donated by the local hobby shop as well as purchased by ourselves. Usually one if not two ready to run vehicles included in there.

Anyway, I just wanted to post this basic information for your knowledge. We would love to have some of your racers come down for one or both of our invitationals. We welcome having people come visit our track and participate. The costs are pretty reasonable as far as the classes. And we'd be glad if we knew Ahead of time you were coming to help you find affordable accommodations as well. And I'm sure as you know we are only short 3 1/2 hour drive away. Many of our racers come up to visit you guys for your outdoor and indoor invitationals.

If you have any questions or comments feel free to post them here or email me directly (rjcella@tbaytel.net).

Thank you
