VTA is our biggest class. A few nights we had over 20 entries. Everyone already has the other stuff and it will cost ZERO to continue as we had in the past. Why make everyone buy something else?

So far I have only seen 2 people that were opposed to the VTA change. What I see is new comers to the RC club already have 2s ESC's and battery packs to match, they can simply remove them from their off road vehicle and put them into a VTA chassis. I think this simplifies details for people and the options are greater for 2s parts vs 1s parts. Bottom line more people would have the budget to race by using electronic parts they already have.

2s ESC's CANNOT be used if they arent on the USVTA approved list, Im going to venture a guess that 90% of the ESC's you guys are using outside are not on that list. Its not that simple of just pulling electronics and swapping. Every club member would need at least a new motor, and most will need APPROVED ESC's.

Please don't over complicate this just for the sake of winning an argument. We do not run a strict USVTA rules package at LSRCC just as most tracks don't. We use any 2s lipo, any speedo in blinky mode,Novak Ballistic 25.5,no driver figure required,no numbers required,1550 gram min wt. The same basic rules that are used everywhere but the state of MN.

Like Greg said. I only have to buy 25.5 motors if we go that route. Alot cheaper than buying 17.5 motors and good 1s packs. We do need to do what is best for the majority of the club, not just a few.

I see it coming...........open VTA! OK so "if" we changed: USVTA Novak 25.5 (stormer priced $90+),
batteries VTA spec under 5000mah $39 - $50 not bad....but, any 2s = as much as you want to spend, but I'm sure that batteries don't make any difference in performance. And it shouldn't be to hard to find a speedo on the "approved" list. so if we switched besides the tires and other general rules (weight, ride height)we should follow at a minimum, motor, battery and speed control rules. And one final question, is anyone running a 25.5 this summer?
??????, that's next!!

Don't get me wrong here, but you cant be serious. There are 20+ VTA's that require ZERO $$ to continue racing this year. If we don't run strict rules at Lsrcc why pull the trigger on the motor deal now? Run the 1s D3.5 for another season to burn them out and then readdress it later.

There are 20+ Vta's that currently fit the rules locally. Find me more than that, that have 2s gear waiting and plan to race this class and I'll drop my argument right now. Period.
