We do need to have all the motors be the same as they will be turned in and handed out randomly the following week. If someone has soldered them up short and another long there is a chance that some ESC's may come up short to reaching the motors.
I started a suggestion on the previous page that works on mine. If someone has a better suggestion that is fine. I just think that they all need to be the same so that we do not have problems on race night.
Let me know if I should change mine, or if others are going to go with it or not.
My diff is smooooth... although the washer that fits under the belville washers as well as the belleville washers are floating because of the axle being a smaller diameter where the threads are and the washers are not low enough to catch the thicker part of the shaft. Needs a bushing or something there to help center them.
Also, my spur has a terrible wobble that will definately be an issue in short order....
OK, I'm not a total retard........I also have a problem with the outside washer floating....But my spur is solid as I pressed the metal washer into it. but as you say.......there's threads under the last washer.......
What I meant by the spur wobbling is that it is warped, solid on the axle but moves side to side on the pinion. It uses the whole tooth of the pinion as it rotates. Might just be a bad gear, does anybody elses do that?
I only put bearings on the front wheels and, my diff. is smooth but, my spur is not perfectly center. I think I will put in a bearing to fix the problem. otherwise the spur will strip. I dont think i have the wright size bearing off-hand so, I think I'll make a trip up to Hobby Town sometime soon.
are we running the motor wires through the front of the pod. or through the top of the pod?
Hay bullit it would be great if you brought it up so we could get the size need so i can get enough in for everone, well except Ben he can get his on-line. also what sise were the bearing you did put in.
Another observation after having the diff apart enough times that I will need to change the nylon nut before racing!! The diff balls seem to almost miss the diff washers. They line up better using the outside holes but still pretty close to missing.
I have a brass bushing in mine but it is not flanged, is that maybe why my spur wobbles from side to side??
The spur is only in motion when in a turn and even then it's not much, does that really need a bearing for durability??
